Rusk won the last time they faced Nacogdoches and things went their way on Friday too. The Rusk Eagles came out on top in a nail-biter against the Nacogdoches Dragons, sneaking past 3-2. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Ross Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Rusk saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bently Moore, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Nash Acker was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Rusk now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Nacogdoches, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Rusk wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-5 loss against Tatum on the 1st. As for Nacogdoches, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-1 defeat against Livingston on the 1st.
