The Marshall Owls pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Harrisburg.
Brody Kueker and Chase Thompson certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Kueker scored 17 points along with nine rebounds, while Thompson scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Deacon Arends, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Harrisburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Marshall on the road again on Thursday and play against Fulton at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Fulton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Marshall likes a good challenge. As for Harrisburg, they will take on Hallsville at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hallsville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Harrisburg in Missouri (Hallsville is ranked 87th, while Harrisburg is ranked 242nd).
