The Gering Bulldogs will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Lincoln Christian Crusaders at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Gering focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Friday.
Gering pushed their score all the way to 55, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 61-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Scottsbluff. Gering has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Gering got a solid performance out of Neveah Hrasky, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds. Kelsey Brady was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Lincoln Christian put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Scotus by a score of 41-33. Given Lincoln Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while Scotus is ranked 75th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Gering's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Lincoln Christian, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with that victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
