Edsel Ford will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Franklin on Saturday. The Thunderbirds were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the Patriots. Considering the Thunderbirds' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Anthony Dietrich made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Dietrich was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most hits he has posted over his last nine contests.

In other batting news, Jacob Kowalsky was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Edsel Ford is undefeated when Kowalsky posts two or more runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Ian Maness was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Edsel Ford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. Their OBP was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .528 that Franklin posted.
Meanwhile, Taylor posted their closest victory since May 18, 2024 on Thursday. They skirted past Anderson 2-0.
Not much got past Jason Miller, who gave up just seven hits to keep Anderson off the board.
Taylor's record is now 4-5. As for Edsel Ford, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Edsel Ford was able to grind out a solid win over Taylor in their previous matchup on Wednesday, winning 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunderbirds since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
