Even though the Fort Edward Flying Forts have not done well against the Granville Golden Horde recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Fort Edward came out on top in a nail-biter against Granville and snuck past 48-46. The win was all the more spectacular given Fort Edward's disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 600th, while Granville is ranked 263rd).
Despite the loss, Granville still got an impressive performance from Liam Farrell, who scored 22 points. William Jennings was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Fort Edward's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Granville, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.
Fort Edward will head out on the road to face off against Salem at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Salem is out to stop a eight-game streak of losses at home. Granville will take on Warrensburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Warrensburg focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
