The Alliance Aviators will be playing in front of their home fans against the GlenOak Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Alliance scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with a 74-66 victory over Marlington.
GlenOak only won by three when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 31-point they dealt Lake on Friday. GlenOak breezed by Lake on the road to the tune of 78-47. Given GlenOak's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Lake is ranked 461st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
GlenOak can attribute much of their success to Ja'Corey Lipkins, who scored 20 points along with five steals, and Reese Zerger, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Lipkins has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 16 times he's played. Jaylen Mcelroy was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five steals.
Alliance's victory bumped their record up to 8-11. As for GlenOak, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-5.
Alliance took a serious blow against GlenOak when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 87-56. Will Alliance have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
