The Malvern Prep Friars had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against West Catholic by a score of 56-47 on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Malvern Prep also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2020.
West Catholic's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Saaid Lee, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tariq-Kobe Jennings, who scored 4 points along with 10 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Malvern Prep's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for West Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Malvern Prep will head out on the road to face off against Unionville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for West Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Overbrook at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Overbrook focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Sunday.
