Baseball Game Preview: Fayetteville Street Christian Patriots vs. Tabernacle Christian Rams

The Fayetteville Street Christian Patriots will head out to take on the Tabernacle Christian Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fayetteville Street Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.

Fayetteville Street Christian fell victim to Calvary Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 7-0 to the Cougar. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Patriots were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Tabernacle Christian came up short against Scotland Christian Academy on Thursday and fell 4-1. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tabernacle Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Lindsay, who went 1-for-2 with one double. Another was Josue Sandoval, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Fayetteville Street Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Tabernacle Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Fayetteville Street Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Tabernacle Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Everything went Fayetteville Street Christian's way against Tabernacle Christian when the teams last played back in March, as Fayetteville Street Christian made off with an 11-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
