Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Summer Creek Bulldogs, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a serious blow against the Eagles on Saturday, falling 74-14. Summer Creek's loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
DeSoto's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Darius Bailey, who threw for 293 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.3 yards per attempt, and also punched in a rushing scores. Another player making a difference was Marvin Duffey, who rushed for 158 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
DeSoto's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. Marshall Kirven was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up 2.5 sacks himself.
Summer Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 14-2. As for DeSoto, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.
Summer Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. DeSoto also has no future games currently scheduled.
