Basketball Recap: North Georgia Christian Academy's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

North Georgia Christian Academy had lost six straight headed into Thursday's contest, but Luke Beaver didn't let it get to seven. The North Georgia Christian Academy Knights had just enough and edged Eastgate Life Academy out 62-60 thanks in part to Beaver, who went 17 of 32 on his way to 37 points in addition to seven assists and six boards. His afternoon made it 25 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Several Eastgate Life Academy players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nate Harbins, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Harbins is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Mayfield, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds.

North Georgia Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Eastgate Life Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

North Georgia Christian Academy will take on Sugar Hill Christian Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. North Georgia Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.2 points per game this season. As for Eastgate Life Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Friendship Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
