The Chilhowee Indians's three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They slipped by Norborne 52-51. The win was just what Chilhowee needed coming off of a 71-24 loss in their prior match.
Despite the loss, Norborne saw an underclassman step up: Zach Deitch scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Deitch scored a full 29.4% of Norborne's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Braydon Cook was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
Chilhowee's victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Norborne, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chilhowee will be home for the holidays to greet Climax Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Norborne will be home for the holidays to greet Tri-County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tri-County is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
