New Hanover extended their losing streak  to three  on Friday, dropping their season record down to 12-9 in the process. They were a single  run away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Laney Buccaneers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buccaneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  6-0  back in March.
As for Laney, the  win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 17-4. The  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games.
 For Laney's part,  Jack Holliman was  excellent,  going 1-for-4 with three  RBI and one  double. That's the most  RBI  Holliman has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of  Carston Wedemeyer, who  went 1-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  run.
 New Hanover wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  matchup,  a  7-5  win against West Brunswick on the 29th. As for Laney, they have also already played their next game,  a  6-0  victory against North Brunswick on the 29th.
