After flying high against the Beach Buccaneers last Tuesday, the New England Tigers came back down to earth. New England had to suffer through a rough 64-31 loss at the hands of Harding County. New England has struggled against Harding County recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Harding County had a senior duo take command as Claire Verhulst scored 17 points along with four steals and Jaelyn Wendt scored seven points along with 14 rebounds and four steals. Verhulst is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Kamry Padden was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
New England's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Harding County, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New England will take on Mandaree at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Harding County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against New Underwood at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. New Underwood is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
