The Millbrook Wildcats will venture away from home to face off against the Wake Forest Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Millbrook barely beat Knightdale the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Knights on Thursday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Connor Wright was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Wright was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jack Strom, who went 1-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Jason Mann also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Meanwhile, while Wake Forest put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Rolesville. The Cougars blew past the Rams 12-0. The win was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won three contests in a row.
Trevor Friend tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Wake Forest let Ethan Brittain and Ian Williams run wild. Brittain went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Williams went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Antonio Parrino was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Wake Forest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rolesville only posted a batting average of .118.
Millbrook's record now sits at 16-6. As for Wake Forest, their record is now 14-5.
