Coconino won the last time they faced Mingus and things went their way on Friday too. The Panthers blew past the Marauders 12-2. Considering the Panthers have won ten contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Coconino let Savannah Waters and Emma Kennelly run wild. Waters went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles, while Kennelly went 1-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Waters a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Ormsby, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Coconino hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mingus struck out six times.
The victory (which was Coconino's third in a row) raised their record to 14-6. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Mingus, Mohave, and Mohave. As for the Marauders, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
Mingus didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 20-0 defeat against Mohave on the 11th. Hopefully Coconino paid attention to the Marauders' matchup: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on the Marauders at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
