In what's become a running theme this season, the Massaponax Panthers gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They claimed a resounding 69-28 victory over North Stafford at home. Winning may never get old, but Massaponax sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
It was another big night for Takiera Ramey, who shot 4-for-6 from long range and almost dropped a double-double on 33 points and nine assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Massaponax's points. Kyra Price was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals and two blocks.
North Stafford's loss came despite strong showings from Daysha Salgado and Destinee Salgado. Salgado scored ten points along with six rebounds and four blocks, while Salgado scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Salgado is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last six games she's played.
Massaponax's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for North Stafford, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Massaponax will challenge the Indians at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Stafford has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 14. As for North Stafford, they will head out on the road to square off against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
