The Citrus Hill Hawks will venture away from home to take on the Moreno Valley Vikings at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Citrus Hill will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Citrus Hill is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Rancho Christian with a sharp 20-1 win on Thursday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Hawks with their most commanding win of the season.

Taylor Macaulay was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Citrus Hill got a massive performance out of Tatum Pino, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those five RBI gave Pino a new career-high. Roxxan Sandate also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Citrus Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .727. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Moreno Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Lakeside on Thursday, taking the game 9-5.
Alexys Vasquez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mia Licon, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Lia Sandoval, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.
Citrus Hill is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Moreno Valley, their record now sits at 5-7.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Citrus Hill hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. However, it's not like Moreno Valley struggles in that department as they've averaged .361. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Citrus Hill might still be hurting after the 22-0 defeat they got from Moreno Valley in their previous meeting back in February of 2022. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
