Tecumseh is on a five-game streak of home losses, Gibson Southern a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Tecumseh Braves will take on the Gibson Southern Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Tuesday, Tecumseh was the victim of a tough 71-50 loss at the hands of Pike Central. Tecumseh has struggled against Pike Central recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Gibson Southern pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Castle 59-55. While losing is never fun, Gibson Southern can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while Castle is ranked 75th).
Tecumseh has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Gibson Southern, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.
Tecumseh ended up a good deal behind Gibson Southern when the teams last played back in February of 2023, losing 61-43. Thankfully for Tecumseh, Jaxun Lamb (who scored 21 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
