South Caldwell had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 79-45 victory over the West Caldwell Warriors. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered a 59-58 loss the last time these two teams met.

West Caldwell's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Sawyer Poarch, who shot 54% from the field on his way to 16 points, and Bryson Edmisten, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jayden Quesenbury, who posted five points and seven boards.

Coincidentally, South Caldwell and West Caldwell will both be playing West Wilkes the next time they take the court. The Spartans will head out to face the Blackhawks at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Warriors will host them at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
