It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Allen Academy Rams ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They snuck past Faith Academy with a 57-53 victory. The victory was just what Allen Academy needed coming off of a 75-22 loss in their prior matchup.
Despite the loss, Faith Academy had strong showings from Natalie Weems, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Alayna Steele, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Weems has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ella Cozby, who scored 11 points.
Allen Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Faith Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.
Allen Academy will head out on the road to face off against Second Baptist University-Model on Friday. As for Faith Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against San Juan Diego Catholic at 5:30 p.m.
