Clint has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Thursday. They will face off against the Parkland Matadors at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Clint focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Clint was the victim of a tough 50-28 defeat at the hands of Ysleta. Clint has struggled against Ysleta recently, as their game on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Clint got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Nathan Calleros and
Emilio Rodriguez, who each put up eight points.
Meanwhile, Parkland didn't have too much trouble with Austin on the road on Tuesday as they won 53-38.
Parkland's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Lans Alansalon, who scored 11 points, and Justin Rodriguez, who scored 15 points along with 5 steals. Diego Castillo was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Their wins bumped Clint to 1-3 and Ysleta to 6-3.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Clint have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Parkland struggles in that department as they've been even better at 29.8 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
