McDonough got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zion Greene out in front who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Greene has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nigel Thomas, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Woodland lost on Wednesday, one person who can't be blamed is Mason Lewis. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with nine rebounds. Treven Davis was another key contributor, scoring six points.
McDonough is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season. As for Woodland, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.
McDonough will head out on the road to take on Pace Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pace Academy is on a five-game streak of home wins, McDonough a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Woodland will take on Stockbridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Stockbridge has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 4.
