As for Lucy Beckham,  the  win snapped their losing streak at four games  and leaves them with a 9-9 record. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
For Lucy Beckham's part,  Violet Petersen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Those  11  strikeouts gave  Petersen a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  CAROLINE EDWARDS was  incredible,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with two  stolen bases, four  RBI,  and two  runs. Those  two  hits gave  her a new career-high.  GEORGIA DAVIS was another key player,  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances with two  runs and one  stolen base.
 Looking ahead, Charleston Math & Science will challenge First Baptist School at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Lucy Beckham, they have already played their next game,  an  8-7  victory against Stratford on the 23rd.
