Baseball Game Preview: James F. Byrnes Rebels vs. Wade Hampton Generals

For the second straight game, James F. Byrnes will face off against Wade Hampton. The Rebels will take on the Generals at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. James F. Byrnes is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

James F. Byrnes barely beat Wade Hampton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rebels blew past the Generals 14-3 on Monday. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Generals recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Connor Crenshaw made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Crenshaw was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other pitching news, Easton Keels looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. James F. Byrnes is 6-1 when Keels allows one or fewer hits, but 6-7 otherwise.

Back at the plate, James F. Byrnes let Jordan Perez and Harrison Keels run wild. Perez went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Keels got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs Keels has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Bubba Gowan, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

James F. Byrnes always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wade Hampton only posted an OBP of .391.

James F. Byrnes' record is now 12-8. As for Wade Hampton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.
