The Monarch Coyotes lost against the Arvada West Wildcats back in January of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Monarch fell 57-44 to Arvada West.
Monarch's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sienna Williams, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Williams is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Savannah Weiss, who scored 17 points.
It was another big night for Saylor Swanson, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds for Arvada West. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Harrison, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Monarch's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Arvada West, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-9.
Monarch will take on Loveland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Arvada West, they will head out on the road to face off against Valor Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
