Baseball Recap: Palmer Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sand Creek, Palmer was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the Thornton Trojans as Palmer made off with a 22-4 win. With that victory, the Terrors brought their scoring average up to 8.2 runs per game.

Dyson Sharpton was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two triples, and five RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Diaz-Raitz, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Palmer always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .686. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win snapped Palmer's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-4 record. As for Thornton, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Coincidentally, Palmer and Thornton will both be playing Fountain-Fort Carson the next time they take the field. Palmer will head out to face Fountain-Fort Carson at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, while Thornton will head out to face them at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
