It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Birmingham Patriots had no problem doing just that on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Colts 35-6 on the road. Winning may never get old, but Birmingham sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Birmingham's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ronnell Hewitt, who rushed for 64 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Kingston Tisdell, who threw for 185 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 passes.
Jerry Misaalefua and Kameryn Hurst certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Misaalefua rushed for 123 yards, while Hurst rushed for 35 yards and a touchdown.
Birmingham's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Carson, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 10-2.
Birmingham will face off against Garfield at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Garfield's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season. Carson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
