The Taylor Ducks will head out on the road to face off against the Burnet Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Taylor can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Canyon Lake 66-28 at home. Taylor didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.
Jacob Mikulencak and Joshua Mikulencak were among the main playmakers for Taylor as the former picked up 268 receiving yards and three touchdowns and the latter threw for 456 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. Mikulencak was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 61 yards. Jackson Meller did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 84 receiving yards, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground.
Meanwhile, Burnet entered their tilt with Davenport with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Burnet came out on top against Davenport by a score of 41-31 on Friday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Taylor now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Burnet, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Taylor won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, slipping by Burnet 41-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Taylor since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
