While it was all tied up 41-41 at halftime, the Port Jefferson Royals were not quite the Smithtown Christian Knights's equal in the second half on Saturday. Port Jefferson took a hard 85-71 fall against Smithtown Christian. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Isaiah McCarter, who scored 41 points for Smithtown Christian. That makes it four consecutive games in which McCarter has scored at least 25% of Smithtown Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nehemiah Yuen, who scored 23 points.
Port Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Smithtown Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.
Port Jefferson will look to defend their home court on January 8th against Southampton at 4:30 p.m. Smithtown Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Southold at 6:30 p.m. on January 4th.
