The Mariners haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

St. Monica saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Savanna Hernandez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Hernandez has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played.
Even though they lost, St. Monica hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most two strikeouts in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary made sure to put some runs up on the board against Bishop Conaty-Loretto on Thursday. Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary blew past Bishop Conaty-Loretto 14-6. The victory continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won four in a row.
Alyssa Ochoa made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Ochoa was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary got a massive performance out of Lilah Ramos, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-5. Another player making a difference was Ariel Aguirre, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
St. Monica's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-6. As for Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-5.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. St. Monica hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .402. However, it's not like Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary struggles in that department as they've averaged .345. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
