Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Cedar Hill Longhorns, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a serious blow against the Eagles on Friday, falling 59-16. Cedar Hill's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
DeSoto was led to victory by Darius Bailey and Deondrae Riden jr.. Bailey threw for 270 yards and two touchdowns while completing 85% of his passes, while Riden jr. rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Riden jr. has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last four times he's played. Antonio Pride did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 104 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Cedar Hill's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for DeSoto, they pushed their record up to 13-0 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
Cedar Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. DeSoto will face off against Southlake Carroll at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Southlake Carroll is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
