It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Central Catholic Raiders can now relate to. They took a 31-14 bruising from Oak Ridge on Friday. Central Catholic's defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Although Central Catholic took the loss, they still got scores from Tyler Wentworth and Joey Alcutt.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oak Ridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joaquin Graves-Mercado, who threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes. Another player making a difference was Jasen Womack, who rushed for 104 yards on only eight carries.
Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Oak Ridge, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-2.
Central Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Oak Ridge will be playing in front of their home fans against Folsom at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Folsom is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
