The North White Vikings are taking a road trip to challenge the North Newton Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North White got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ella Hunt out in front who had three digs and three aces. That's the most aces Hunt has posted over her last four matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Jacobsma, who had nine assists and six digs.
They weren't the only good servers: North White was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Caston only served two.
Meanwhile, North Newton didn't have quite enough to beat Lowell on Monday and fell 3-2.
North Newton wouldn't go down easily and took Lowell into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-12, 25-12, 21-25, 15-13.
North White's victory bumped their record up to 17-7. As for North Newton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.
North White took their win against North Newton when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
