False River took a serious blow against Catholic of Pointe Coupee, falling 60-33. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for False River in their matchups with Catholic of Pointe Coupee: they've now lost four in a row.
False River's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Karson Lacombe, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Matthew Graffeo was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 13 rebounds and four steals.
False River has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-21 record this season. As for Catholic of Pointe Coupee, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. False River will square off against Westminster Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Westminster Academy's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while False River has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for Catholic of Pointe Coupee, they will challenge Louisiana School for the Deaf at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Catholic of Pointe Coupee has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
