Baseball Recap: Normal Community Extends Winning Streak to Four

While Normal Community put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Danville. The Ironmen didn't even let the Vikings on the board, marking the Ironmen's second-straight 24-0 shutout. The win was nothing new for the Ironmen as they're now sitting on four straight.

Tyler Swanson looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Andrew Naour, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Drew Stevens, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and two RBI.

Normal Community always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Danville only posted an OBP of .100.

Normal Community pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Danville, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
