Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Delta Rabbits, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were dealt a 48-7 defeat at the hands of South Summit on Friday. Delta has struggled against South Summit recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Hunt Robinson threw for 223 yards and a touchdown. Kadance Lovell was his top target, gaining 118 total yards. On the ground, Blade Brandow rushed for 79 yards.
Leading South Summit to victory were Trey Stembridge and Bracken Lassche. Stembridge rushed for 82 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, while Lassche threw for 208 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
South Summit's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. Delta's QB won't forget Noah Gunnerson anytime soon given Gunnerson sacked him three times.
Delta has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for South Summit, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-2.
Delta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. South Summit will stay at home for another week and welcome Layton Christian Academy at 1:00 p.m. on November 4th. Layton Christian Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
