Baseball Recap: East Central HomeSchool Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wiregrass, East Central HomeSchool was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Ezekiel Academy Knights by a score of 12-8. This was a revenge game for the Patriots: when they faced off against the Knights back in March, they had to take a 4-3 defeat.

Cade Best and Levi Jett did most of the damage at the plate: Best went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Jett went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three hits gave Best a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isaac Davis, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

East Central HomeSchool was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ezekiel Academy only posted a batting average of .310.

East Central HomeSchool now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Ezekiel Academy, they dropped their record down to 4-17 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. East Central HomeSchool will challenge rival Evangel Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Ezekiel Academy is set to square off against their familiar foe Southern Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
