The Mt. Pleasant Tigers waltzed into their matchup Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 68-52 win over Franklin Classical School. That's another feather in the cap for Mt. Pleasant, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Hayden Holt was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 24 points. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Ryan Benderman, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Mt. Pleasant's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Franklin Classical School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-4.
Mt. Pleasant will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hampshire at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Hampshire comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Franklin Classical School will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off.
