La Grange is 9-1 against Smithville since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The La Grange Leopards will be playing at home against the Smithville Tigers at 6:15 p.m. The timing is sure in La Grange's favor as the squad sits on nine straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Smithville has been banged up by nine consecutive losses on the road.
La Grange pushed their score all the way to 68 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Manor New Tech by a score of 70-68.
Nathan Scott put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds. He also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cordale Knapik, who scored nine points along with six steals.
Meanwhile, Smithville had to suffer through a rough 80-42 loss at the hands of Caldwell. Smithville was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-11.
La Grange's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 24-9. As for Smithville, their loss dropped their record down to 3-20.
Everything came up roses for La Grange against Smithville in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 74-34 win. Does La Grange have another victory up their sleeve, or will Smithville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
