Crater waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Henley Hornets by a score of 7-2. That's more bragging rights for the Comets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Ally Nottingham made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Amanda Hammer was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Hayden Kenyon was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
Crater's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Henley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
