The Academy at the Lakes Wildcats will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the First Academy Eagles on February 6th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Florida (Academy at the Lakes is ranked 659th, while the Eagles are ranked 665th).
Last Thursday, Academy at the Lakes was beaten by the Scorpions 62-32.
The losing side was boosted by Will Pena, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nabil Delacurz, who scored four points along with five blocks.
Meanwhile, even though Geneva scored an imposing 55 points on Thursday, First Academy still came out on top. First Academy enjoyed a cozy 71-55 win over the Knights. The victory made it back-to-back wins for First Academy.
First Academy relied on the efforts of Rhett Walsh, who scored 25 points along with six steals and five rebounds, and Amari Smith, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 20 rebounds. Smith has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last eight times he's played. Bryce Norflee was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Academy at the Lakes' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-13. As for First Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season.
