NCSSM: Morganton has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Cherryville Ironmen at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Last Tuesday, NCSSM: Morganton came up short against Draughn and fell 67-54.
Loss or not, NCSSM: Morganton got some senior leadership from Lawson Taylor and Rahul Soletti. Taylor scored 20 points, while Soletti. scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Soletti has scored all season.
Meanwhile, even though Highland Tech scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, Cherryville still came out on top. Cherryville walked away with a 64-55 win over Highland Tech. The win made it back-to-back wins for Cherryville.
Cherryville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chancellor Hunt, who scored 16 points along with four steals and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Darrien Floyd, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
NCSSM: Morganton bumped their record down to 4-6 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Cherryville, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.
