The Greenville Classical Academy Lions will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Temple Christian Academy Warriors on January 26th. Greenville Classical Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 260th, while Temple Christian Academy is ranked 102nd).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 76-46, which was the final score in Greenville Classical Academy's tilt against Bob Jones Academy on January 8th.
Greenville Classical Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Josiah Schvaneveldt, who scored 19 points, and Harris Myers who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Schvaneveldt has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Temple Christian Academy had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 points), and they went ahead and made it 11 on Tuesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 76-40 victory over Barnes Academy. Temple Christian Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 24 points or more this season.
Temple Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jeramy Trangmar out in front who scored 19 points along with nine assists and five steals. Trangmar is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last ten games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Gaines, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Greenville Classical Academy dropped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Temple Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3.
Greenville Classical Academy couldn't quite finish off Temple Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 and fell 50-47. Can Greenville Classical Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
