The Middletown Islanders will be playing at home against the Johnston Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Middletown has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Johnston will arrive with nine straight victories.
Last Friday, Middletown came up short against Tolman and fell 55-47. While losing is never fun, Middletown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Rhode Island basketball rankings (they are ranked 27th, while Tolman is ranked fourth).
Meanwhile, even though South Kingstown scored an imposing 62 points on Saturday, Johnston still came out on top. Johnston secured a 66-62 W over South Kingstown.
Middletown bumped their record down to 4-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Johnston, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.
