The Galena Park Yellowjackets will head out to face off against the Westbury Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Galena Park has 18 straight victories, Westbury has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Galena Park proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 15) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over Carnegie Vanguard. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Yellowjackets have posted since March 11th.
Jacob Gutierrez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on zero hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hector Arrieta, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Westbury came up short against Waltrip on Saturday and fell 7-3.
Langston Howard was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Galena Park pushed their record up to 18-0 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Westbury, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9-1.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Galena Park has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .480. However, it's not like Westbury struggles in that department as they've averaged .452. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Galena Park's way against Westbury when the teams last played back in February of 2020, as Galena Park made off with an 18-1 win. Do the Yellowjackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Huskies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
