Skyview hasn't had much luck against Middleton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Hawks will head out to face off against the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Skyview took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Nampa as they made off with a 15-2 victory. The game snapped a strange streak: the last six times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Makenna Shamy tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kenna Bettencourt was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grace Chambers, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Skyview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nampa only posted an OBP of .400.
Meanwhile, Middleton faced Vallivue in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Falcons. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Averi Gustafson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Gustafson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Adelyn McPherson was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Kenadi Whitlow was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
Skyview's record is now 15-5. As for Middleton, their record now sits at 18-4.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Skyview hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .394. However, it's not like Middleton struggles in that department as they've averaged .420. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Skyview came up short against Middleton in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 8-3. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
