The Northern Durham Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 15th straight loss. They were outmatched by Hillside on the road and fell 68-12. Northern Durham was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-6.
Hillside got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kynnedy Roberts out in front who scored ten points along with four steals. Roberts hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Samiyah Barker, who scored 11 points.
Northern Durham dropped their record down to 2-15 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.0 points per game. As for Hillside, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
Northern Durham will look to defend their home court on Friday against Chapel Hill at 6:30 p.m. Chapel Hill will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Northern Durham surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hillside, they will head out on the road to face off against East Chapel Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hillside is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than East Chapel Hill in North Carolina (Hillside is ranked 79th, while East Chapel Hill is ranked 291st).
