Despite the defeat, Florida Christian saw an underclassman step up: Leah Perez scored 15 points along with three steals. Perez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Zoe Campos, who scored four points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Edison took a serious blow against the Pioneers on Monday, falling 68-19. Edison was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-11.
Florida Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Edison, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-7.
