The Eisenhower Tigers will be playing at home against the Hutchinson Salthawks at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Eisenhower focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
Eisenhower's recent rough patch got a bit rougher after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 64-47 to Andover Central. Eisenhower has not had much luck with the Jaguars recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the loss, Eisenhower got a solid performance out of Pierce Blue, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Blue hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Larsen Schneider, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, even though South scored an imposing 57 points on Friday, Hutchinson still came out on top. Hutchinson took their game against the Cougars 68-57. Given Hutchinson's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Cougars are ranked 213th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Eisenhower has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Hutchinson, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3.
Things could have been worse for Eisenhower, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 75-57 loss to the Salthawks in their previous matchup back in February of 2023.
