Baseball Recap: Eufaula Sets Scoring Season-High Against Catoosa

Eufaula had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 6-14 to make it five. They fell just short of the Catoosa Indians by a score of 15-14. On the bright side, the 14- run performance marked the Ironheads' highest-scoring contest to date.

As for Catoosa, they moved to 11-12 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

For Catoosa's part, the team relied heavily on Brogan O'Neal, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave O'Neal a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Reid McConnell, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Coming up, Eufaula will be playing at home against Oktaha at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Catoosa, they will square off against Berryhill at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Chiefs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
